My ability to connect to WordPress went out last night and didn’t come back again until about one. While taking a break from blogging certainly isn’t a bad thing, I like it better when I do it on my terms, rather than someone else’s. Choosing not to blog is different than not being able to blog. I didn’t get to worked up about it, though. I knew the problem would get resolved eventually.
It just put me a little behind in the blogging department.
Friday’s Perfect Moment was one where nostalgia got a chance to re-enact itself in my modern day. Friday, I found myself at home in the late afternoon. So, at around 4 o’clock, I decided to have a cup of coffee and some cookies (mediocre cookies not worth describing in any detail).
When I was younger, my paternal grandparents (Opa and Oma to me) always had coffee at 4:00. It didn’t matter if it was summer or winter, they had hot coffee. For me they made hot chocolate. In the summer, I asked for cold chocolate, but that was not for coffee time.
They also had something to accompany the coffee. It could have been cookies. It could have been kipfels. It could have been any number of things. This happened every day at 4:00.
So, I did my best to replicate the custom. Now, if only I were home at 4:00 more often.
