Descent From DaLat

IMG_20170305_123512612.jpg

I didn’t have time to write about leaving DaLat.  DaLat was built by the French so they could get away from the summer heat.

I instantly fell in love with the city. It has a backpacker vibe and an incredibly old world charm.

We left and got to see the original French steam train.

After that we had a nice chaotic ride through the city followed by an exciting 5 km descent.  Sadly, two members in the group crashed.  They are OK, but it wasn’t fun to see.

We followed this with an incredible…. Amazing… I am not sure I have the words…. 30 km descent.  No pedalling was required, but a good grip on the back brakes and a keen eye for potholes definitely was.  Here are some of the photos.

So glad you commented. I was in Dalat for only one night, but I loved it. The city has a great vibe.
I am in Hoi An until tomorrow. This city is pretty cool also. Most of the group has been getting tailored clothes and leather bags.
Keep enjoying the country. Tomorrow is the toughest day on the bike. We have a big climb starting at China Beach.
