Not a Winter Holiday, but a Holiday from Winter

weather1

Unlike a winter holiday, somehow, some way, people in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area, or The Six as it is sometimes called) got a holiday from winter. The temperature climbed way above the norm and treated us to a spring day on the third of February.

When I went for my dentist appointment, the hygienist, after checking out my attire, wondered aloud if it was warm enough to be outside without a jacket.

Indeed it was.

The previous record was about 9 degrees above zero. Today hit 16 degrees above zero.  Wow!  Sixteen!  Talk about smashing a record.

It kind of reminds me of that Seinfeld episode–it was real and it was spectacular.

I am now thinking that Mother Nature should schedule one of these days for every winter month. We could get a short respite and might be able to handle the winter onslaught a little better.

While I have no power to make that happen, I will start campaign for it nonetheless.
