The Kit Kat Phenomenon Revisited

This post is not so much about the better me as it is about things that intrigue me.  As I wrote before in a previous post, which you can see if you click here, I have a fascination with the whole Japanese Kit Kat thing, and am quite pleased when I can participate in it.

As you have probably seen, Japan is awash in kit kat flavours.  Some are standard but some are revolutionary.  Honestly, some are just strange, but taste is so personal that maybe somebody really likes them.  Green tea seems to be one of the more famous ones, but there are others.

While browsing at a very local store I came across these kit kats.  They were packaged to celebrate the Lunar New Year (most often referred to here as Chinese New Year).  They were not made for the Japanese market, but I still consider it related to that whole phenomenon because it isn’t a flavour I would expect to see in Canada.  I bought it without thinking despite my pledge to cut down (or cut out) sweets.

The flavour is orange…..really intense orange.  It was quite delicious, but the flavour was a bit overpowering.  I am not sure if I will try it again.  Hopefully, I will get a chance to try more flavours.
