After a long vacation, or a long business trip, or a long drive….heck, even after a long day shopping and doing errands–it’s nice to come home. I spent the weekend away, and while I had a good time, I was quite glad to be home in my own space. I was quite happy when my cat poked his nose around the corner to acknowledge my presence.
There are probably some of you out there who feel the exact opposite to this. There are some of you whose “home” is oppressive and bleak. All I can tell you, if that is the case, is to find a way out. Not today, maybe not tomorrow, but make a plan, follow the plan and make that break.
That all seems melodramatic and harsh, but I understand it. If things got that way for me, I’d be gone to Japan tomorrow–but that’s me. That’s how I roll.
Rolling on. The feeling of relief and satisfaction when I slid my key into the door and the locks unbolted made the long hot drive worth it. I was home, and happy to be there. It was a good feeling.
